Marketplace Rules & Prohibited Items

By listing any item or service on the Beer Can Island Marketplace, you agree to comply with these rules. Violations may result in immediate removal of your listing, suspension of your account, and potential legal action.
1. General Marketplace Rules
- All listings must be truthful, accurate, and describe actual items or services you own or are authorized to sell.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create listings.
- Listings must include clear photos, accurate descriptions, pricing, and location.
- You are responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding the sale of your item or service.
- Beer Can Island reserves the right to remove any listing at its sole discretion.
2. Prohibited Items & Services
The following items and services are strictly prohibited on the Beer Can Island Marketplace:
⚠ Weapons & Firearms
- Firearms, guns, rifles, shotguns, handguns, and any parts or accessories (including magazines, scopes, silencers, and ammunition)
- Air guns, BB guns, pellet guns, and paintball guns (with functional firing mechanisms)
- Knives designed as weapons, switchblades, ballistic knives, or any blade over 6 inches
- Explosives, fireworks, or any pyrotechnic devices
🚫 Illegal or Controlled Substances
- Illegal drugs, narcotics, or any controlled substances
- Drug paraphernalia
- Prescription medications without proper licensing
☢ Hazardous & Dangerous Items
- Live animals or wildlife
- Human remains or body parts
- Alcohol (unless you hold proper licensing for alcohol sales)
- Tobacco or nicotine products intended for resale
- Hazardous materials, chemicals, or toxic substances
🔒 Stolen or Counterfeit Goods
- Any stolen, counterfeit, or replica items
- Items that infringe on trademarks, copyrights, or intellectual property
🚫 Adult & Explicit Content
- Pornography, adult toys, or sexually explicit material
- Services of a sexual nature
⚠ High-Risk or Regulated Items
- Lottery tickets or gambling-related items/services
- Financial products (loans, credit cards, cryptocurrencies for direct sale)
- Medical devices that require FDA approval (without proper documentation)
- Real estate listings (except for approved island-related opportunities)
🚫 Other Prohibited Categories
- Anything illegal under U.S. federal law or the laws of Florida
- Items that promote hate, violence, discrimination, or illegal activity
- Digital items that violate copyright (e.g., pirated software, movies, music)
3. Services Rules
- All service providers must comply with applicable licensing and insurance requirements (e.g., captains must hold proper USCG licensing).
- You may not offer services that are illegal or require special permits you do not possess.
4. Enforcement
- Beer Can Island actively moderates listings.
- Violations can result in:
- Immediate removal of the listing
- Temporary or permanent account suspension
- Reporting to law enforcement if illegal activity is suspected
