How we handle your information
We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email, phone, address), making purchases (payment information via Stripe), listing boats or charters, creating events, and communicating through our messaging system.
Your information is used to: operate your account, process payments, send notifications, display your listings/events to other users, connect you with charter captains and event organizers, and improve our services.
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never store your full credit card number. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
We do not sell your personal information. Contact information (phone, email) on charter listings and boat-for-sale listings is visible to logged-in members. Your name and profile may be visible to other members in the messaging system, events, and reviews.
Social Security Numbers and Employer Identification Numbers collected from shareholders are used solely for K-1 tax document preparation. This data is stored securely and is never shared with other members or displayed publicly.
We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. Analytics may be added in the future with notice.
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Boat listing photos are deleted 30 days after a listing is sold or expired. Unverified accounts are deleted after 5 days.
You can update your profile information anytime from your dashboard. To delete your account, contact us at Russ@beercanisland.com.
